Maintaining the weight loss

Again this will be like my weight loss thread, just the one page which will be updated every week with my weight, whether they are STS (stay the same's) loss's or put ons. So to carry on from last nights post on my weight loss thread, I am now at goal I lost 3.5 lbs and that took me to 13.1 stone and my goal weight set by Weight Watchers.

I thought it might add more information to my maintenance program if I also added what exercises, or anything that I used to help control my weight. So from now on I will be adding any major bike rides that I do as this is the major thing I have done to help me lose the weight and it would be interesting to add these rides in, and then see the loss or gain at the next weigh-in.

Date 26/01/2010 weight 13.1 BMI 25.5 So a loss of 3.5 pounds and finally I have made my Weight Watchers goal weight and I am feeling very happy with myself. So what's next after getting to goal well now comes, so some say, the hardest part and that is maintaining my weight. With Weight Watchers I have now got into maintenance which means that I can now add up to six points to my daily allowance. At the moment I have an allowance of 27 points so I don't think that I will add any points to that at the moment, as I still want to lose a few more pounds so that I  have a buffer of at least 5 lbs. We shall see how this goes !

Date31/01/10 Today I rode the Windrush Winter Warm-up, this is an Audax ride, these are not races I might add you have a time limit to get around which is very generous anyone who is reasonably fir can do these rides. At the start  you are given a route sheet with written directions which contain places that you must visit, at these places called controls you either, get a stamp from a controller or you might have to write down information, from a sign post or something similar. Todays ride was 107km - 66.7miles long It was completed in 6 hours and 10 minutes this included forty minutes of stopped time.
For breakfast I had my normal porridge then on the ride at the various stops I had six biscuits, half a hot cross bun, two jaffa bars, a pasta carbonara, a piece of cake and a piece of flapjack and a few coffees. That seems like an awful lot but the ride was very cold and we road at quite a fast pace, so it will be good to see what effect this has on my weigh in on Tuesday.

Date 01/02/2010 Weight 13.0 A loss of one pound this is just were I want to be at a total 10 stone loss very happy, now to work out the maintenance. I have checked the points I am currently on 27  after altering the stats page it says I should be on 33 I think thats a bit high and will maintain on 27 and see how it goes. my bmi is now 25.4 which is down from 43.7.

Date 02/02/2010 Out on the bike tonight went down to my sisters and back, although it was not the best weather as it rained most of the way there and drizzling and very windy on the way back. But this cycling lark is very addictive and very very enjoyable, this ride was 24 miles long and due to the wind and the hills took me 1 hour and 44 minutes.

Here are my stats since getting to goal

Date 07/02/2010 A good  or rather great ride today, I did the Chippenham Flapjack  the clue to whats given away is in the title :) Again this is an Audax event and it was 101 km long. The ride went very well met some of the people I rode with at the Windrush but I decided to add a little speed into my pace, not much just a little. This did make a difference and I did the ride in 5.30 hours with an average speed of 13mph. there were a few stops on the way and three of them fed us very well, flapjacks, cakes and coffee at the first, beans on toast, flapjacks, cake and coffee at the second, flapjacks, cake and coffee at the third and just to make sure you were well fed soup rolls and of course cakes and flapjack at the last control. Of course you don't have to eat it ..... but it would be rude not too. I didn't go too mad and I did burn off over 7000 calories so just a little at each was enough for me. Again a good ride I enjoyed it every much and off course its good exercise that should help me, if I dont go too mad with the cakes, with my weight loss maintenance ...... heres hoping.

I have my WW leader interview tomorrow I am hoping this goes well.

Date 08/02/2010 I had my WW interview today we met in a café in Wotten under edge at 12pm. We spoke for some time on my weight loss and all about the inner workings of WW I then asked her some questions about what my leader job would entail and she asked me some on how I would react about certain situations . As far as I am aware the interview went quite well, I know all I wanted to know about becoming a leader all the good parts and how long it takes to set up and other things you have to do as a leader like the 24 hour banking and monthly leader meetings that you must attend. She advised me that there might be some problems with being a male leader, I could see her point but I also feel that WW do need more men and we have to be more careful about what is said at meetings and how we react to some women's problems, but thinking about it after the meeting, it's not as if there would be no other females there in my 'team' that could not address any of these problems.
She also suggested that I should help my leader for a few weeks then make a positive decision then, I know what I am going to say but I have taken her advise and I am helping my leader for the forthcoming weeks and then I will ring her and ask again to become a WW leader.

I hope then I will be put forward to become a WW leader, I feel that its something I have to do, even if I do it and help only one person to lose the weight and to feel the same way as I do.

Date 09/02/2010 weight 13.2.5 a gain of 2.5 lbs. I know the reason and that is I decided to eat before my weigh in tonight as I am helping at the meeting and its too long until 9.00pm to wait until my evening meal. I also had two coffees at the meeting before my weigh-in. This will even out next week as long as I eat before the meeting again.
Tonight I helped and watched Rebecca at the scales, there were lots of new members so I weighed some of the normal members. Its just a case of learning to ask the right questions and write down all their weight details and any useful info they tell me about their losses or gains, but that will come with practice.

I have decided that as this page will probably get very large as I am not just posting about my weight I will try for a while adding a new page everytime I post and see how it goes.
